Bill Carnegie (Chairperson)

Bill Carnegie is a nonprofit professional who has spent the past 34 years in leadership roles across the country. Bill received a BS in Marketing from Hawaii Pacific University in 1986 and a MS in Nonprofit Management from the University of Notre Dame in 2001. In 2012, Bill received the national CEO of the Year award from the Feeding America National Food Bank Network. Bill taught Nonprofit Management and Board Development Courses at Arizona State University and has served on numerous local, regional and national Boards of Directors. Following the 2011 mass shootings in Tucson, Bill was sought after to Chair the Victim Compensation Fund Board.

He received a State Bar Association Award for his leadership role and was subsequently asked to serve on the Victim Fund Board following the San Bernardino terrorist attack in 2015. Bill has focused his leadership roles on building communities and assisting low-income families. Bill is currently the President of Nonprofit Resource Partners, LLC, a nationally recognized consulting firm.

Faeda Elliott (Treasurer)

Communications Manager, Heroes on the Water

Faeda Elliott is a brand, design, and marketing professional with more than 20 years of experience supporting nonprofits and businesses across multiple industries. Her work is driven by a passion for visual communication and helping organizations effectively tell their stories and amplify their impact.

In addition to her professional work, Faeda has served on nonprofit committees for Feeding America Inland Empire, the American Advertising Federation Inland Empire, and the Net Impact Claremont Lincoln Chapter. She recently stepped into an expanded role as Communications Manager with Heroes on the Water, a national nonprofit serving veterans and first responders through more than 50 chapters across the United States.

Faeda holds a bachelor’s degree in graphic design and a master’s degree in social impact.

Stuart Haniff

Executive Director, Hunger-Free Pennsylvania

Stuart Haniff is a nationally recognized leader in the anti-hunger movement, with more than two decades of nonprofit leadership, administration, and healthcare management experience. He describes himself as a “food banker at heart” and a fundraiser by trade.

Stuart most recently served as Vice President of Philanthropy at Feeding South Florida and previously as Chief Executive Officer of The Food Bank of the Rio Grande Valley. He has also held leadership roles with nationally recognized organizations, including United Way and Make-A-Wish. His work is driven by a deep commitment to improving lives through initiatives focused on health and wellness, poverty alleviation, and the arts.

Vineet Kumar

Strategy & Management Consultant, 501 Commons

Vineet is a nonprofit consultant with more than 12 years of experience supporting organizations across the Greater Seattle area. His work includes strategic planning, board development and training, volunteer program design, and marketing strategy.

In addition to his consulting work, Vineet serves as Vice President of the Board of a neurodiverse school in the Seattle area, where he contributes to governance and organizational growth.

He holds an MBA from the University of Michigan and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Toledo.

Tangie Newborn

Founder, Immense Business Solutions, LLC

Tangie Newborn is a seasoned nonprofit executive with more than 30 years of leadership experience across national associations and mission-driven organizations. She has served as Executive Director & CEO for the Alliance for Nonprofit Management and the National Association of Black Journalists, and as Deputy Executive Director & COO at the American Medical Women’s Association.

As founder of Immense Business Solutions, Tangie has helped organizations strengthen operations, increase revenue, and grow membership through strategic planning, communications, and marketing. She is known for her collaborative leadership style, practical approach, and commitment to advancing the impact of nonprofit professionals. Tangie is also a certified life coach, bringing a people-centered perspective to her work and leadership.

Amira Turner

Development Operations Lead, N. Okakpu Consulting

Amira Turner is a Chicago-based professional with expertise in data analytics, nonprofit development, and community engagement. Her work focuses on performance metrics, program evaluation, and strengthening organizational effectiveness.

She has held key roles including Grants Manager for the IL Muslim Civic Coalition, where she enhanced donor engagement and marketing strategies, Interim Director of Development at 100 Black Men of Atlanta, and Executive Coordinator at the Inner-City Muslim Action Network (IMAN). Amira is also the founder of Childcare Concierge and has led public relations and event initiatives for a range of organizations.

An alumna of Indiana University's Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, she holds certifications in nonprofit sustainability and major gift development. She is actively involved with the Chicago Women’s Foundation through “Willie’s Warriors” and serves on multiple community boards.

Katie Burnham Laverty

Society Founder & Learning Institute Evaluator

Katie Burnham Laverty is the retired co-founder of the Society for Nonprofits, and served as President and Executive Director until early 2017. On March 18, 1999, Burnham was honored by the United States Distance Learning Association with the "Most Outstanding Achievement by an Individual in Lifelong Learning" award. Burnham graduated with Honors from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a B.S. in Education.
