DescriptionFounded by educators, the Foundation promotes the absolute best in public education. The Foundation's Learning and Leadership Grants Program awards grants to provide resources for educators hoping to engage in professional learning that can be implemented in their classrooms. Grants are awarded to provide resources for educators hoping to engage in professional learning that can be implemented in their classrooms. High-quality professional development programs for individuals include summer institutes, conferences, seminars, travel abroad programs, or action research. Group programs include collegial study groups, action research, lesson plan development, or mentoring experiences for faculty and staff. Eligible applicants include teachers, education support professionals, or specialized instructional support members. Specialized instructional support members include paraeducators, school bus drivers or other transportation staff, custodial or maintenance staff, food service staff, school nurses, health aides and other health and student services staff, clerical staff, security staff, skilled trades staff, and technical services staff. Also eligible are specialized instructional support personnel such as school counselors, psychologists, social workers, occupational therapist, library media specialists, and speech pathologists. All applicants must be current NEA members. Application instructions and other information can be found on the Web site.
