Description

Named for the founder of the department store chain, the Foundation was established by his daughter, Marjorie Montgomery Ward Baker in 1959. The Foundation’s mission is to support and strengthen charitable institutions that provide quality educational and cultural programming for the current and future residents of Chicago, Ill., and its surrounding communities. Grants are awarded in arts, culture, and the humanities as well as for education. The Foundation is administered by Bank of America. An application form can be found on the Web site.
