Description

The Organization’s Emil Gumpert Award honors the late Honorable Emil Gumpert, chancellor-founder of the American College of Trial Lawyers. Throughout his career, Gumpert substantially and effectively devoted himself to the administration of justice and the improvement of trial practice. In his honor, the College will award a grant of $100,000 to a public or private program whose principal purpose is to maintain and improve the administration of justice. Programs may be associated with courts, law schools, bar associations, or other organizations that provide such a program. Selection criteria include whether the program is new and/or innovative; how the award money will be spent; will the applicant accomplish the intended project or goal without the award money; and whether the project can serve as a model for wider application. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
