The Amphion Foundation

Description

The Foundation, created by contemporary composer Elliott Carter and his wife, Helen, was established to encourage the performance of contemporary concert music, particularly by American composers through support to performing and presenting organizations that have demonstrated sustained artistic expression. The Foundation is also interested in supporting significant projects devoted to the music of Elliott Carter. Grants are provided to publicly-supported nonprofit performing ensembles, presenters, festivals, and music service organizations that have a history of substantial commitment to contemporary concert music at a high level of excellence. The deadline is for performing ensembles. The deadline for presenters, festivals, and music service organizations is September 15. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
