The Foundation focuses its grantmaking on education, religion, historic preservation, and medical programs and/or scientific research primarily in the northeastern United States. Education grants are provided to schools and colleges; with emphasis on educational programs providing assistance to the need or disabled. Religion grants are provided to religious programs or institutions, with the emphasis on those also providing assistance to the needy or disabled. Historic preservation grants are provided to historic preservation programs or institutions including historical societies. Medical and scientific research grants are also offered. There are two three-month cycles when online grant applications can be submitted: Sept. 1 to Dec. 1, and March 1 to June 1.
