DescriptionThe Foundation makes investments in postsecondary programs and initiatives. The philanthropic arm and one of several affiliates under the Minneapolis-based ECMC Group, which helps students succeed. Grants are awarded in two focus areas: college success and career readiness. College success grants focus on increasing the number of college students from historically underrepresented backgrounds, including low-income and first-generation populations, who pursue and attain bachelor’s degrees. Career readiness grants commit to connect adults with limited or no education beyond high school to career pathways that allow for economic mobility and a family-sustaining wage. The Foundation endeavors to make long-term investments – either alone or by leveraging the work of other nonprofit, public, private, and philanthropic partners – that improve academic achievement among underserved students as they prepare themselves for higher education and careers. The Foundation accepts letters of inquiry on a rolling basis through its online system. Additional information including the online application system can be found on the Web site.
