Description

The Fund, housed at the Vermont Community Foundation, aims to foster and sustain Vermont’s gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) communities by providing support for projects and scholarships as well as establishing a permanent resource dedicated to ensuring that LGBTQ Vermonters are connected, healthy, appreciated, safe, and empowered. Priority is given to projects or organizations that serve the LGBTQ community or support HIV/AIDS services or prevention at the grassroots level. Non LGBTQ-identified organizations are encouraged to seek support for projects that directly serve the state’s LGBTQ community. Extra consideration will be given to proposals that serve youth, elders, or transgender Vermonters; those that serve rural areas outside of Chittenden County; those that address basic human needs in the LGBTQ community; those that seek to increase community safety and decrease violence in all forms; and those that enhance youth development and leadership skills. Details about the application process and other information can be found on the Web site.
