Description

The Academy’s Healthy Smiles, Healthy Children (HSC) Program aims to provide dental care for all children nationwide. The HSHC’s Access to Care grants program supports community-based initiatives that provide dental care to underserved children. Priority will be given to initiatives that support age-one dental visits; emphasize care to patients from birth to age 5; provide care to special needs patients; address the needs of specific underserved demographic groups; and/or incorporate systemic health. Funds may be applied to cover the cost of clinic supplies and instruments; patient/parent education materials; take-home supplies (for example: toothbrushes and toothpaste); education and/or outreach to dentists, and/or other activity with clear, direct impact on pediatric oral health care. Applicants must have matching funds equal to the grant request amount at the time the application is submitted. Matching funds can either be cash or in-kind. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
