Charles And Lynn Schusterman Foundation
Category: Education
DescriptionThe Foundation has a deep commitment to providing young people with the knowledge, self-confidence, and experiences they need to better their lives and, in turn, become leaders in their communities, the Jewish world, and beyond. The Foundation is committed to acting on the Jewish imperative of tikkun olam (repairing the world). The Foundation’s philanthropic work is focused on four areas in which it hopes to make a deep and lasting impact: national education, Jewish identity and community, Israel, and Tulsa, OK. National education efforts seek to invest in reform efforts within and outside of U.S. school systems that improve educational opportunities and outcomes for all students with a particular focus on low-income communities. Jewish identity and community grants seek to strengthen the identities and leadership capacities of young Jews to ensure a diverse, dynamic Jewish future that is inclusive, deeply connected to Israel, and committed to making the world a better place. Israel grants seek to deepen the connection and commitment to Israel on the world stage while helping Israel meet the demands of its growing and increasingly diverse society, primarily in the areas of child protection and the renewal of Jerusalem. Grants to programs in Tulsa focus on the areas of child protection and youth development. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
